Just Be Cause Foundation was founded on a simple conviction: every person, regardless of circumstance, deserves dignity, safety, and a path forward.
How We Started
From a Shared Meal to a Movement
Just Be Cause Foundation grew out of a grassroots effort to address the growing crisis of homelessness in our community. What began as a small group of neighbors sharing meals and resources has grown into a structured nonprofit delivering food, shelter support, and case management to hundreds of individuals each year.
We believe that lasting change doesn't come from charity alone, it comes from relationship, consistency, and treating every person as a full human being with potential and worth. That belief shapes everything we do, from how we serve meals to how we walk alongside someone rebuilding their life.

Access to Justice for All Albertans
The Fort Foundation is a community justice hub serving Albertans who don't qualify for legal aid but cannot afford a lawyer. Just Be Cause Foundation is proud to be part of this hub — supporting clients through the full court process and ensuring that financial barriers never stand between a person and justice.
Stronger Together Under One Roof
Heartland Community Commons is a collective of nonprofits working together to share resources and create efficiencies while delivering community services to Fort Saskatchewan and surrounding areas. Just Be Cause Foundation is a founding partner — helping build a model where organizations co-locate, collaborate, and serve the whole person together.
